Mary Borton, LLC

About:
Mary Borton, E-RYT 500, is a Registered Yoga Teacher, somatic movement educator, explorer, and personal mindfulness guide. Through movement, play, and deep listening, Mary encourages others to fully understand and inhabit their bodies.
Mary's foundations in movement began in traditional and modern yoga perspectives. Over many years, her movement modalities have become infused through her extensive studies in related fields, including somatic awareness, human development, mindfulness, trauma, poly-vagal theory, and her personal experience.
Having earned certifications and training in multidisciplinary approaches to whole-body understanding, she has studied trauma-informed yoga, prenatal yoga, EmbodiYoga®, Coreawareness®, Yin yoga, therapeutic applications in yoga, and more. From this extensive array of methods, practices with Mary often take a co-creative journey into body-mind territories that bring curiosity and deeper understanding.
Specializing in private and small group interactions to bring out this process's co-creative and intuitive nature, Mary sees clients both online and in The Therapy Collaborative practice space.
Movement/Yoga:
Integrating movement practices with other forms of self-care can enhance all aspects of well-being. Using techniques to relax, restore and find resilience allows for a fuller experience of oneself. Movement is far more than postures, and the possibilities of self-discovery are endless!
Somatics:
These practices return your body to a sense of presence, ease, and connection. Somatics describes various techniques that help increase bodily awareness through movement, relaxation, sensory, and nervous system practices. Tuning into our body's inner wisdom is the heart of somatics and offers insight and meaning to your life experiences and questions.
Connection:
We are born out of relationships. We can build better connections and relationships with ourselves and others through practices promoting inner and outer harmony.
